We've had a whole house water filter for 6 years and replacing the filter every 3 months is easy. We replace at the same time we replace our inhouse air filters for the furnace/air conditioner. Water tastes great now.

Comments about GE FXHTC Whole House Carbon Water Filter:
I use it to filter all water that is used in my house. It's greatest virtue is that it filters out particles that clog faucets and it strongly improves the flavor of the drinking water.

We have this GE whole house system clearing sediment and sulfur from our well water. It is not an easy task, this is the 2nd system we tried and it works well. Water Filter Experts did a great job. [...] a very competitive price.

Comments about GE FXHTC Whole House Carbon Water Filter:
I had the Whirlpool replacement filter. I replaced it after 25,000 gallons. I decided to try the GE replacement filter. It is a great filter and filters better than the whirlpool one, but the GE filter is much more restrictive. I have a booster pump and I noticed a significant pressure drop from the old filter to the newer filter. The price between the two is comparable. Bottom line: If you can afford to lose water pressure, the GE filter will be a great filter. If you can't, I recommend the Whirlpool filter.
