I usually order the economy type filter but I hear stories of how contaminated our city water is and I thought I should use the better filter. Definitely will save quite a bit ordering from DiscountFilters.com over buying this from the local big box stores. Even if you buy the contractor pack, ordering online with free shipping saves you at least 10 dollars. I tried the generic brands and they don't work as well as the real deal. Installation seems to be alot harder with the generics whereas the Whirlpool ones come out and go in easily. I doubt if the filtering process works as well. I have town water and the quality isn't that great coming out of the tap. If you compare a glass of water from the tap vs out of the filter, you can see sediment and a brownish hue on the water from the tap. Just a visual comparison is enough for me

We ordered our filters and in three days received them. The installation is straight-forward following the instructions (make sure the water supply and ice-dispenser to the refrigerator are off). The flushing of the system takes a little time, but not bad. The water tastes great! My grandchildren love it as they can help themselves to water/ice easily. I love the Whirlpool Filters best, and definitely found Discount Filters.com an excellent place to do business. I will definitely order from them again in the future!
