The aftermarket Supco WF290 is used in refrigerators by LG, Kenmore and others and is designed to replace the LT500P or 5231JA2002A filter. The WF290 creates better tasting water for drinking and making beverages as well as clean, clearer, healthy ice.

Installed about a month ago. The filter installs in the opposite way my Kenmore filter did. Took three attempts and a few minor leaks to install but i didnt shut off the water to the fridge and drain it like i was instructed. All in all not that difficult and I guess it's the same.

I decided to turn to DiscountFilters.com buying a defective filter that ended up making my water taste horrible. I had read some reviews on off brand filters. So I was skeptical when I purchased these filters at a fraction of the cost of the manufacturers product. I installed the filter as directed and flushed the first gallon out. I was very impressed that I could not tell the difference from the original filter and this discount filter.
